Nirek Mokar & his boogie messengers

Nirek Mokar & his Boogie Messengers bring boogie-woogie and traditional jazz back to life on the stage of the Caveau de la Huchette.

Led by pianist Nirek Mokar, this project explores the roots of boogie-woogie and traditional rhythm and blues. Backed by his Boogie Messengers, the artist presents a repertoire directly inspired by the great masters of the genre, from the 1940s and 1950s, blending jazz standards and compositions with brisk tempos. The musical style follows in the footsteps of the pioneers of blues piano, favouring spontaneity and groove.

On stage, the line-up delivers a direct acoustic energy, designed for dancing and listening. The set rests on a long-standing rapport between the musicians, offering an interpretation faithful to the codes of the genre. Audiences at these concerts generally look for the atmosphere of a traditional jazz club.

The Caveau de la Huchette, located in Paris's fifth arrondissement, offers a vaulted underground setting well suited to acoustic and brass-led music. This historic venue regularly hosts swing and jazz concerts, in a configuration where the proximity to the artists is direct. The evening is aimed at lovers of classic jazz, boogie-woogie and swing dancing.
