Expert in the delicate art of the film-concert, the highly adventurous Parisian group NLF3 deploys all its mastery with ¡Que Viva Mexico!, the mythic Sergei Eisenstein film, to which it imparts striking relief through high-flying musical creation.
Founded in 2000, at the initiative of brothers Nicolas and Fabrice Laureau (ex-Prohibition), NLF3 develops an instrumental language as colourful as it is singular.
Oscillating mainly between post-rock and electronics, their music—resolutely adventurous and exploratory—is sometimes tinged with other colours from elsewhere, for example Brazilian tropicalism.
Having published several finely crafted albums, the group proves especially gifted for film-concerts. , the mythic unfinished film by Sergei Eisenstein, remains emblematic.
With vibrant contrasting nuances, never flatly illustrative, their musical accompaniment brings a rich echo to the visual power of the Soviet filmmaker.
