Roberto Fonseca & Vincent Segal

Picture an incandescent piano, fuelled by Cuban rhythms and jazz, in dialogue with a violoncello of vibrant sonorities. Roberto Fonseca and Vincent Segal come together on stage for a rare encounter, where virtuosity blends with pure emotion.

Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca excels in Cuban jazz and enjoys venturing just as readily into contemporary music, from electronica to hip-hop. An heir to the Buena Vista Social Club, he brings all the energy, warmth and sensuality of Havana. Alongside him, the French cellist Vincent Ségal draws on world music. A longtime travelling companion of artists as varied as Ibrahim Maalouf, Matthieu Cheddid, Ballaké Sissoko and Bumcello, he deploys an endless palette of nuances, moving between groove, lyricism and improvisation.

Together, they weave a unique and spontaneous dialogue, in which every note becomes a story. Their rapport gives rise to a generous music without frontiers, at once intimate and universal, that will take you on a journey between Cuban effervescence and timeless poetry.
