Translated into 18 languages and performed in 20 countries, the show has established itself as an international classic while retaining its status as an iconic work of French musical theatre. First staged in 2001 at the Palais des Congrès, where it drew close to 2.5 million spectators, the production has become a cultural reference deeply rooted in the collective memory. A true madeleine de Proust for an entire generation, embodied from the very beginning by the iconic duo Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara. Unique in the world of French musical theatre, Roméo & Juliette is still today the only show that allows audiences to rediscover its original duo on stage.

For Cécilia, "returning to Paris with Roméo & Juliette is deeply moving. I was chosen at 15 to play Juliette, a foundational role that marked the beginning of my life as an artist. Finding it again twenty years later, alongside Damien, has been a very powerful moment — as if we had never parted, yet enriched by everything life has brought us. This return carries a symbolic value: coming full circle, returning to where it all began, with 25 years of experience now nourishing these characters in a new way. The story continues to bring people together, to pass on love and emotion. It is an immense joy and a great gratitude to rediscover Juliette and the French public."

Following on, Damien adds: "returning to Paris after having taken Roméo & Juliette around the world, notably in Asia, carries a very particular resonance.
