Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra / Santtu-Matias Rouvali

The Concertgebouw Orchestra in concert with a conductor still little known to the French general public, Santtu-Matias Rouvali, considered the rising star of the prestigious Finnish conducting tradition.

Finland, thanks to a well-established tradition and demanding training, is a veritable pool of conductors for international scenes – Parisians are well acquainted with Klaus Mäkelä, Mikko Franck or Esa-Pekka Salonen, for example.

Principal conductor of the London Philharmonia and musical director of the Göteborg Symphony Orchestra, Santtu-Matias Rouvali has been collaborating with the Concertgebouw Orchestra since 2020, and their joint concerts are very regularly praised by critics.

Rouvali conducts Prokofiev's Fifth Symphony and associates for Beethoven's Concerto No. 5 "Emperor" with another artist from the North, Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson.
