Like all my friends, I wanted to make my father proud. So I did everything to be like him and he liked it. I played football and he liked it, I brought home trophies and he liked it, then I ended up in a wheelchair and he was ashamed. So when I realised I wanted to be like my mother, I preferred not to tell him.
