Squeeze - Tried, Tested and Trixies - 53 Years of Classic Songwriting

The London-based band Squeeze, formed in 1974 and driven by the songwriting duo Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford, presents a concert devoted to more than five decades of songs, with their latest album Trixies as a backdrop.

Formed in London in 1974, Squeeze is associated with the British new wave. Signed to A&M Records, the band owes its identity to the two-voice songwriting of Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford. Between 1978 and 1996, it placed eleven singles in the British Top 40, six of them in the Top 20.

After a break at the turn of the century, devoted to solo projects, the two musicians reunited in 2007 for a series of concerts. The band released Cradle to the Grave in 2015, its first album of new material in seventeen years, followed by The Knowledge in 2017. Its influence is cited by artists such as Lily Allen and The Killers.

Trixies, released in 2026, was conceived by Difford and Tilbrook as teenagers, more than fifty years earlier. The concert, titled Tried, Tested and Trixies, traces this long practice of songwriting. It takes place at the Bataclan, a Parisian concert venue in the 11th arrondissement.
