Overview
Sù! Can a concert be spectacular? , where the staging literally elevates the musical performance. Between lightness and gravity, the vocal ensemble pays a most harmonious tribute to Monteverdi: a… suspended moment!
The first word sung in this show dedicated to the repertoire of Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643), Sù! means, in Italian, “come on” but also “up, above”, like an injunction to elevation, to momentum.
Taking this brief interjection literally, Les Cris de Paris imagine a staging in motion to intone the madrigals and excerpts from Orfeo that made the Italian composer famous.
Indeed, if their voices rise with certain virtuosity, their bodies are not left out, thanks to a system of wires, harnesses, weights and counterweights devised by Camille Boitel and Sève Bernard.
The vocal ensemble directed by Geoffroy Jourdain continues to enchant us, as much by its musical demandingness as by its incredible sense of staging. Come on! Duration: 1h20
