USA 250 : le programme

This year, the United States is marking the 250th anniversary of its Declaration of Independence, with celebrations culminating on 4 July, America's national day. Two and a half centuries on, the City of Paris is celebrating this bond between our two peoples through a summer programme open to everyone. These celebrations, in which sport will take centre stage, come exactly halfway between the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the ones to be held in Los Angeles in 2028.

Eiffel Tower illumination programme To kick off the festivities, the Eiffel Tower will be lit in the colours of the event on the evening of Friday 3 July, from 11pm.

Sport takes centre stage Flag football taster session - Saturday 4 July, 10am to 6pm - Parc Rives de Seine (Paris Centre) Organised with the Fédération française de football américain, this free event, open to everyone, is a chance to discover this sport, which will feature for the first time as an Olympic discipline at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

NBA Summer House - From 31 July to 2 August, at the Palais Brongniart (Paris Centre). This marks the first French edition of the event, co-organised by the NBA and the French basketball federation, free and open by pre-registration.

Public-space exhibitions 'Coney Island' - Showing from 4 to 30 July on the Berges de Seine, right bank. An exhibition paying tribute to Brooklyn's iconic beach. 'Plages urbaines: USA' - Photographs captured by National Geographic photographers.

Showing from 4 July to 30 August on the Berges de Seine (Paris Centre). 'Paris, USA' - Showing from 15 July to 30 August, on the railings of the Hôtel de Ville (Paris Centre). A nod to American towns named 'Paris'.

Two exhibitions organised by the Embassy of the United States of America in France: Paris Match Exhibition - A retrospective devoted to Franco-American friendship through news photography — from 1 July in the square on Place des États-Unis (16th).
