USA 250 : le programme

This year, the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of its Declaration of Independence, culminating on July 4, American National Day. Two and a half centuries later, the City of Paris celebrates this bond between our two peoples through a summer programme open to all. These celebrations, with sport in the spotlight, occur exactly halfway between the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and those to be held in 2028 in Los Angeles.

Eiffel Tower Illumination Programme

To kick off the festivities, the Eiffel Tower will be adorned in the event's colours on the evening of Friday, July 3, starting at 11 p.m.

Sport in the Spotlight

Flag Football Initiation - Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. - Parc Rives de Seine (Paris Centre)

Organised with the French Federation of American Football, this free activity, open to everyone, is an opportunity to discover this sport, which will be an Olympic discipline for the first time at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

NBA Summer House - From July 31 to August 2, at the Palais Brongniart (Paris Centre).

This is the first French edition of the event, co-organised by the NBA and the French Basketball Federation, free and accessible upon pre-registration.

Exhibitions in Public Spaces

“Coney Island” - Presented from July 4 to 30 on the Berges de Seine, right bank. An exhibition paying tribute to Brooklyn's iconic beach.

“Urban Beaches: USA” - Photographs immortalised by National Geographic photographers. Presented from July 4 to August 30 on the Berges de Seine (Paris Centre).

“Paris, USA” - Presented from July 15 to August 30, on the railings of the Hôtel de Ville (Paris Centre). A nod to American cities named “Paris”.

Two exhibitions supported by the Embassy of the United States of America in France:

Paris Match Exhibition - A retrospective dedicated to Franco-American friendship through news photographs — from July 1 in the square located on Place des Etats-Unis (16th arrondissement).

Watercolours by Marielle Durand - Paintings dedicated to Philadelphia, the cradle of American independence, presented alongside the Paris Match exhibition — from July 1 in the square located on Place des Etats-Unis (16th arrondissement).

Temporary Exhibition at the Musée Carnavalet
