Alexander Malofeev

Beyond his prodigious technical abilities, which opened the doors to major international stages very early on, Alexander Malofeev has demonstrated great artistic maturity since his debut. Opening with an unmeasured prelude by Louis Couperin, like a space of freedom, the programme reveals a mosaic of inner landscapes. In Sergei Prokofiev, a few miniatures sketch fleeting impressions, such as La Promenade, which draws us into a sun-drenched nature. The peaceful, delicately poetic pages of Tchaikovsky later resonate with the fiery Infernal Rag by William Bolcom, announcing Liszt's fierce Mephisto-Waltz.
