Antoine chante Brassens

Antoine performs the repertoire of Georges Brassens during this concert at Théâtre Atelier du Verbe in Paris.

Antoine, the French singer-songwriter and sailor active since the 1960s, takes on the songs of Georges Brassens for a series of performances. Revealed to the public in the mid-sixties with folk-rock-accented tracks and striking lyrics, the artist here offers a personal interpretation of a pillar of French chanson.

On stage, the performer revisits the melodies and poetic texts of the poet from Sète, generally accompanying himself on his guitar, favoring sobriety and direct interaction with the audience. This show is aimed at fans of lyrical songs and the French musical heritage, eager to rediscover these pieces in an acoustic and intimate setting.

Théâtre Atelier du Verbe hosts this production in an intimate format, conducive to listening to the lyrics and arrangements proposed by Antoine. The concert highlights the enduring nature of Brassens' writing through the voice of an artist from the same generation.
