Overview
Antoine Préat is a pianist set apart within the new generation. In constant pursuit of the right colour and phrasing, he builds singular musical architectures through carefully arranged programmes. Artist in residence at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, he comes to present a programme of great expressive force. The melodic purity of Scarlatti introduces the highly operatic Sonata No. 14 by Mozart, followed by the cycle Four Sketches by the American composer Amy Beach, inspired by verses of French Romantic poetry. Préat will take on another narrative challenge by confronting the Everest that is Schubert's Sonata No. 20.
Programme
Domenico Scarlatti • Sonata in A major K. 208
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart • Sonata No. 14 in C minor K. 547
