Barrut

Presented by La Salle de Spectacle La Caravelle, in co-organisation with Musiques de Nuit, Barrut is a sonic beast made up of two women and five men who come together as one body to bring to life a wild, poetic animal that sometimes weeps and often roars.

On CONTRA-FUÒCS, Barrut sings of the torments of the modern world: a simmering anger in the face of injustice, a desire to rebel, and a need to cry out loud and clear the sadness that floods us when the world crushes beauty. Written, composed and performed in Occitan by the members of the group, the songs carry Barrut's attachment to a minoritised language, deeply tied to its cultural roots and its artistic commitment.

Drawing on influences from rock, neo-classical music and film music, the show moves through contrasting landscapes, between suspended moments and head-on intensity.
