Barrut

Barrut is a sonic beast composed of two women and five men who come together to give life to a wild and poetic animal, one that sometimes weeps, often roars. In CONTRA-FUÒCS, Barrut sings of the torments of the modern world: a simmering anger at injustice, a desire for revolt, a need to loudly express the sadness that overwhelms us when the world crushes beauty. Written, composed, and performed in Occitan by the band members, the songs reflect Barrut's attachment to a minority language, deeply linked to their cultural roots and artistic commitment. Drawing on influences from rock, neo-classical, and cinematic music, the show traverses contrasting landscapes, moving between suspended moments and frontal intensity.
