Bestiaire

By ensemble ApotropaïKPlunge into the Middle Ages with ApotropaïK and their show Bestiaire.

Dragons, mermaids, panthers and ferrets come to life in a stage and musical fresco that blends the « Cantigas de Santa María » (13th century), whose tales recall the art of storytelling, extracts from the Codex Las Huelgas, a major manuscript of medieval polyphony, and « caccie  » (14th century), Italian pieces that evoke the world of Dante and Petrarch.

After a residency at the Abbaye de Royaumont, the Centre des arts hosts this show early in its tour, offering audiences a poetic and enchanting performance in which the medieval imagination unfolds in all its richness, appealing to both the eye and the ear.
