Billie

Billie, 24, grew up between the dream pop of Cocteau Twins, the post-punk of Joy Division, the daring of The Velvet Underground, and the voices of France Gall and Françoise Hardy. The Talking Heads film Stop Making Sense acted as a catalyst.

Trained at the American School of Modern Music before moving to England, she refined her technique, began writing in French and shaped a female-driven rock, somewhere between clear vocals and saturated guitars. Her debut EP, J'avance, explores desire, melancholy and urgency.

Recorded between London and France with Zacharie Berdugo (Ayrakaz), then with Clément and Adrien of Kids Return, it asserts an organic, melodic and electric pop-rock.

With her new EP, À ce que les autres pensent de moi, Billie delivers an intimate, generational project about identity, the gaze of others and the traces of the past, or how one builds oneself, between discreet wounds and lingering memories.
