At the height of his life, Johann Sebastian Bach wrote a cantata every week to accompany the service. This resulted in an impressive body of work, sometimes for choir, sometimes for soloists, from which Lucile Richardot (voted “Lyric Artist” at the Victoires de la musique classique 2025) and Il Convito have devised a two-part programme, where the human voice dialogues with that of the organ, mysterious and penetrating.
