About — The venue

The Auditorium of the Opéra National de Bordeaux is the concert hall of Bordeaux's lyrical institution. On this site, it has its own page and its own schedule: performances given in the other spaces of the Opéra are not listed here.

Its programming is clearly dominated by classical music, which accounts for the vast majority of upcoming dates. Jazz takes second place, with a regularity that deserves to be highlighted: few classical venues in the catalogue dedicate as many evenings to it. A few dance, song, and world music dates complete the season.

This combination — a symphonic and chamber music foundation, a true jazz component — makes it an address to consult beyond just the audience for learned repertoire. The genre indicated on each listing allows for quick sorting between the two worlds.

The prices observed cover a wide but reasonable range, from affordable access tickets to the best categories. In this type of venue, the difference is mainly due to seating: the listing shows the lowest observed access price, and the choice of category is made on the official ticketing website.

A characteristic of the repertoire worth knowing: lyrical and symphonic seasons are announced very far in advance, often a full year. The calendar on this page therefore frequently displays months already filled, which facilitates organising an outing long in advance — useful when several people need to be brought together.

Finally, as the Opéra is an establishment with multiple venues, each concert listing bears the exact name of the performance location. This is the detail to check before booking, and the official ticketing accessible via the booking button confirms it.

A final reference point to situate this venue within the local offering: it appears in the site's Bordeaux agenda, with its genre filters. Searching for "classical" or "jazz" at the city level rather than venue by venue remains the quickest way to find a concert on a given evening.
