CARMINA BURANA IS A WORK BOTH MYTHICAL AND ICONIC.
THIS SHOW IS A MOMENT OF DANCE AS POWERFUL AS IT IS MUSICAL.
Spanning the years, this musical score is full of very well-known airs, but also of moments just as magical, though far more intimate. Nothing could be better than dance to bring out the mysterious charm of this opera, alternating ensemble movements, pas de deux and solos, carried by the powerful choreography of François Mauduit, former soloist with Maurice Béjart. The performance is not limited to a simple choreographic transcription of Carl Orff's work, but offers a genuine dramatic evocation in the form of thematic tableaux. At its centre: man facing his destiny, in an atmosphere as luminous as it is magical. Like a mystical ritual, the compositions of Vivaldi, Saint-Saëns, Delibes and Bach enrich this celebration, creating a musical architecture in which dance infuses vital energy and spirituality.
