Overview
Cécile Evrot develops a singular writing, at the crossroads of French song and flamenco. Her debut album Dévers (the inclination, the slope) explores the beauty of what leans within us, and this quest to stand upright despite everything.
From her deep immersion in flamenco, she retains a certain penchant for solar dissonances, measures with obscure counts and this very particular grain of voice that grips the soul.
On a piano sometimes urgent sometimes melancholic, she unfolds melodies that gently pull at the chest and sometimes exile themselves outside the verse/chorus format. Writing is always at the centre, intense and poetic.
