Overview
Dutch singer Charlotte Wessels brings her pop rock and indie universe to the stage of La Machine du Moulin Rouge.
Active since the early 2000s in symphonic metal, the artist embarked on a personal turning point with the release of her first solo album, Tales From Six Feet Under, in 2021 on the Roadrunner Records label. This shift in her discography explores more intimate textures and pop rock formats, while retaining a pronounced melodic rigour and a marked taste for finely crafted arrangements.
On stage, Charlotte Wessels presents a set that gives pride of place to compositions from her personal projects, alternating atmospheric passages with more lively moments. The band accompanying her highlights the vocal clarity and the density of the orchestrations. This concert is particularly aimed at audiences curious to discover the artistic evolution of a performer rooted in the symphonic metal scene as she moves towards independent aesthetics.
La Machine du Moulin Rouge provides a setting well suited to this musical proposition, allowing an appreciable closeness with the audience. The layout of the venue encourages attentive listening to the nuances of this repertoire, between direct pop structures and a sense of narrative.
