Daoud

A enfant terrible who rejects the codes of jazz, Daoud conjures a music driven by a sense of not fitting in, one that unsettles the frameworks without seeking to please and wins over curious newcomers as much as purists.

The whole is run through by a single tension: between play and gravity, chaos and tenderness, irony and sincerity.

With ok, his new album released on ACT in 2025, he delivers a personal manifesto tinged with falling and repetition, but also with the perseverance it takes to start over again and again.

Around the music, the artist builds a raw visual universe, marked as much by provocation as by a youthful letting-go, a return to childhood not to reassure himself but to unearth contradictions.

Fragility, impermanence, satire: the aesthetic embraces the flaw rather than hiding it. On stage, Daoud and his group play with the rules, somewhere between restrained lyricism and explosion.

They chain together sold-out concerts and noted appearances, from Ronnie Scott's in London to the Montreux Jazz Festival, including the North Sea Jazz Festival.

In parallel, Daoud composes and produces for others, without ever losing the thread of a personal approach that is growing ever freer and more uncompromising.
