Overview
DEA MATRONA (Rock): Dea Matrona's rise is built on a fierce DIY mentality: the duo has honed its sound over the years on stage, building a loyal fanbase and self-funding its own releases.
Their debut album, For Your Sins, released in 2024, reached number one on the Independent Breakers chart, was played on BBC Radio 1, took them to Glastonbury and also won them the support slot on tour with Canadian rockers The Beaches.
This summer, the duo will join icon Sting on the road, carrying their hybrid sound to even bigger stages.
While their music is steeped in a strong sense of nostalgia, recalling the hazy choruses shaped by legendary bands such as Fleetwood Mac and The Cranberries, Dea Matrona's clear-eyed lyrics remain firmly rooted in the present.
Writing and recording most of their songs together in the back of the van they share on tour, the duo turns their feelings of impostor syndrome and their frustrations with the world around them into energetic, assured rock tracks full of attitude.
