DESPISED ICON Founded in 2002, Montreal's Despised Icon, pioneers of deathcore, returns with their seventh studio album, *Shadow Work*.

This album marks an important milestone for a band whose original lineup has remained virtually unchanged since its inception, allowing it to stay true to the sound and spirit it helped define.

Lyrically, Shadow Work explores themes of resilience and inner healing, drawing from the psychological process of confronting and integrating one's darkest aspects. It's a deeply introspective album reflecting both personal growth and the turbulence of the world around us.

First album in six years, this is Despised Icon's most accomplished and dynamic work to date, combining relentless speed, crushing grooves, and morbid melodies, while remaining true to their characteristic blend of extreme death metal and raw hardcore.

This album doesn't lack fresh blood, both in the sense that it remains resolutely progressive, and thanks to the recent arrival of guitarist and songwriter Neal Tiemann as a full member.

After more than 18 years of existence, CARNIFEX continues experimenting with new musical arrangements and adding unique atmosphere to its characteristic deathcore style. During recording, these orchestrations were set to music by film composer Spencer Creaghan.
