Don Quichada, shut away in the castle of a remote province, spends his days reading tales of chivalrous adventure, to the point of confusing reality with fiction. One day he climbs onto his old, bony mare, aptly named Rocinante. He enlists Sancho Panza as his squire and sets out to take on the world, to protect the living and the dead and, like his favourite heroes, to hunt down dragons and other evil creatures to lay as trophies at the feet of his Dulcinea.

A new man is born: he will be called Don Quixote de la Mancha!
