, began playing music as a teenager, influenced by artists such as Hank Williams, Johnny Cash or Tom Waits.

The singer, guitarist and songwriter first performed as support act for his friend's group Fire Mountain, then settled in Birmingham, where he took his stage name and formed Early James & the Latest in the early 2010s.

During one concert, the songwriter was visited by Dan Auerbach, half of the blues rock duo The Black Keys, who signed him to his label Easy Eye Sound in 2019 and produced the first album "Singing for My Supper" (2020), followed shortly after by "Strange Time To Be Alive" (2022).

Both albums earned him critical acclaim, before the breakthrough with "Medium Raw", released at the start of 2025 and recorded in live conditions at the Honky Château, a century-old house in the heart of Nashville.

A perfect setting for his rollicking swing, his gravelly voice, his dark and caustic lyrics, not to mention his unique blend of blues, country, bluegrass, folk and Southern rock.

The man whom The New York Times once described at the start of his career as "the missing link between Townes Van Zandt and Tom Waits" thrives on stage with his fellow musicians, promising a fine evening, fiery and feverish, just the way we like it around here!
