Overview
Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine Joseph Swensen, conductor Edgar Moreau, cello Hector Berlioz, Le Corsaire - Overture Henri Dutilleux, Tout un monde lointain, cello concerto César Franck, Symphony in D minor « La musique souvent me prend comme une mer!
» Henri Dutilleux borrows these words from Charles Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du mal to illuminate his cello concerto, Tout un monde lointain, this essential work premiered in 1970 by Mstislav Rostropovich.
A promise of poetry that contemporary language holds, its interpretation by Edgar Moreau is complemented by another masterpiece of expressiveness: the sole symphony composed by César Franck, in the very powerful key of D minor.
