Elisapie

An unmissable ambassador for the Indigenous voices of Canada's Far North, the Inuk singer has made her mark with a contemporary style blending rock, pop and folk with more traditional influences. Worth discovering… She embodies a certain musical elegance.

On her latest album, Inuktitut, which was noticed by the American music reference magazine Rolling Stone and stayed at the top of the sales charts in Quebec for several weeks, the singer explores the songs she loved in her childhood and adolescence.

The challenge was considerable: to take on these classics by Queen, Pink Floyd, Cindy Lauper or the Rolling Stones, sung in Inuktitut, her mother tongue, by reinterpreting them. From this translation comes a strength and an unprecedented poetry.

In this playlist of youth, Elisapie tells the story of her journey, her joys and sorrows, and her determination too, while weaving her culture in with finesse, combining modernity and tradition. Presented by the Mairie de St Rémy de Provence
