It's a revelation that lights up her entire journey: her trumpet learning, the formation of her taste and an approach to music without blinkers or borders.
Her first two albums—Yellow in 2021 and Weirdo in 2025—are entirely steeped in the jubilant joy the musician finds in blending (spiritual) jazz, soul, pop, funk and electronic music.
Today, Emma-Jean Thackray pays back Miles what belongs to Miles, by proposing a concert as a love letter to the untamed genius of the American trumpeter.
While the musician is particularly inspired by his electric period, she draws here from all layers of an incredibly rich repertoire to explore 50 shades of groove and attempt the most uninhibited electronic hybridisations. Both feet in breathtaking modernity.
