On his birthday, Yvon accidentally swaps his accountant's briefcase for that of a stranger on the RER and finds millions inside. He immediately decides to fly off to Buenos Aires, in Argentina, to begin a new life in the sun. But he has not reckoned with his wife's stubborn refusal, the successive intrusions of an ill-timed couple of friends, a dubious policeman, a fussy police inspector, an irascible taxi driver, and the arrival of a hitman determined to recover what is owed to him…

Espèces Menacées is a play written in 1994 by the British playwright Ray Cooney, under the title "Funny Money". Its French adaptation is by the talented Michel Blanc and Gérard Jugnot. The English speak of a "Cooney Farce" just as the French speak of a Feydeau.
