Overview
It is difficult to define Fazil Say other than by himself. As both performer and composer, he is an artist through and through, with an endless imagination. The programme he presents is in his image. The Goldberg Variations are among those unidentified objects of human creation that cannot be classified or even explained. Without making any reworkings, Fazil Say tells them in his own way, taking each variation on a journey through the imaginary world that is his mind. Once he reaches the end of Bach's monument, he leads us towards other slopes and other valleys of his thinking. There follow works from his highly personal 'concept albums' Morning/Evening, as well as compositions.
Programme: Johann Sebastian Bach • Goldberg Variations BWV 988 Florilège musical around Say, Gershwin, Scarlatti, Mozart & Jazz
Performer: Fazil Say • piano
Running time: 1h15 + 20 minutes' interval
Children under four are not admitted to the hall. The performance begins precisely at the advertised time. Five minutes before the performance begins, numbered seats are no longer guaranteed.
