Foudroyantes Margaux Eskenazi / La Compagnie Nova Sharing Life Since the disappearance of their grandmothers, Yemma and Vóvó, Rita and Alma have heavy hearts. Inside them, it rumbles like a storm: there are trapped angers, blocked tears, clouds ready to burst. To find peace, the two friends decide to invoke spirits and see the invisible beyond the living. Through rituals of their own invention, they summon the memories of their grandmothers. It is their turn to tell the stories that were told. Behind every plant, stone, or animal lies the tale of a metamorphosis. Before our eyes, the stories come to life: we meet the Woman with the Lion's Mane and the Woman who became a cave, chimera-women who transformed after containing their emotions for too long. The show demonstrates that our grandmothers, wherever they may be, have the power to help us grow and weather our storms. This multi-layered play expresses how stories have a magical effect and reminds us that mourning is not forgetting, but continuing to keep the power of memory alive within us.
