Overview
Close-up on the central rear-view mirror. A hand in black leather gloves pulls out a pocket comb. Francis Mac Douglas slicks back his hair in slow motion and switches on the car radio: "Prout" is the name of the album. That's a promise.
An unmissable figure of the absurd, founder of 10 minutes à perdre and Joe La Mouk, Gaël Mectoob carries on in the same vein with his new musical project: FRANCIS MAC DOUGLAS!
A contemporary UFO recalling Joost, horsegiirL or Tommy Cash, immersed in the world of bass, sound systems and off-kilter chanson. Philippe Katerine fused with David Hasselhoff, arriving in a Supercopter onto the dancefloor. Behind the self-mockery, there is a point to make.
With tracks such as Antifa, a dreadfully catchy nursery rhyme, Francis Mac Douglas slips in his messages as if in passing and quietly reminds us how to politicise the scene.
But the FRANCIS MAC DOUGLAS experience is above all lived live: interactive, participatory and frankly regressive, you don't leave his concerts unscathed. A silly little interlude that does the soul good in today's gloom.
