Havana Jazz Club

Following the success of the centenary concert of the Orchestre d'Harmonie de Clichy, which had drawn nearly 900 spectators to the Clichy Hall, Théâtre Rutebeuf is once again taking over the venue for a major event devoted to jazz, swing and Cuban music.

For the occasion, two emblematic ensembles of Clichy's musical life join forces. The BBCC opens the evening with the infectious energy of the big jazz bands, with dazzling brass, lively rhythms and improvisations inspired by the standards of the genre.

Then Orquesta MI SOL takes the audience towards the warm rhythms of Cuba. Accompanied by a dance couple, musicians and spectators are invited to share a true ‘Ron Danzón’, the Cuban version of the tea dance, where the music is experienced as much as it is listened to.

Conceived as a festive and popular occasion, Havana Jazz Club celebrates the richness of amateur music-making and the vitality of Clichy's musical associations. An invitation to listen, dance and share an afternoon in the colours of Havana.
