Hayden Thorpe

Presented by Öctöpus, Hayden Thorpe performs the Wild Beasts repertoire for the first time in almost nine years.

These concerts, given entirely solo, will offer an exploration of this much-loved repertoire in its purest form: voice and instrument, just as the songs were originally composed.

“In my everyday life, I am lucky to often meet kind souls who tell me how much a particular song, a particular album or a particular Wild Beasts concert meant to them. I have learned that, with time, the bonds of the heart do not fade and the power of music remains intact.

I missed these songs, so the moment seemed ideal to go and reach for the high notes and draw on the muscle memory of my hands.

It is a true full circle, these dates coinciding perfectly with the twentieth anniversary of the release of Wild Beasts’ first single, “Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants”. The choice of venues was also carefully considered.

Each of these places played a key role in the band’s history: Brewery Arts was our cultural headquarters when we were growing up in Kendal, Hoxton Hall hosted the concert that revealed our second album *Two Dancers*, and the Brudenell Social Club will forever be the place where we grew up as musicians.
