Overview
A left-handed guitarist who plays without a pick, Jared James Nichols cultivates a no-nonsense blues rock, rooted in electric blues and the hard rock of the 1970s.
Originally from Wisconsin, he has established himself over the years as a musician equally at ease in improvisation and in the energy of live performance, to the point of sharing jam sessions with Slash, Zakk Wylde, Joe Perry and Buddy Guy.
Since Old Glory & The Wild Revival (2015), he has charted his own course without confining himself to a single formula.
His fourth album, Louder Than Fate, marks a new stage: recorded between the Foo Fighters' Studio 606 in Los Angeles and Nashville, it places greater emphasis on songwriting, vocal harmonies and choruses, while retaining the guitar's essential place.
An evolution that asserts a broader ambition, without taking anything away from the raw character of his blues rock.
