When the idea for an album takes shape, I often don't see it coming. I set off with two or three ideas in mind, and I'm often surprised by what happens.

For ‘Spirales’, things began one day in June 2024, during a walk through my hometown, Provins, in Seine-et-Marne. I had just crossed a public garden where, as a child, I often went with my mother. A text appeared then, bringing together those childhood walks and the moment I was living through. I had already written songs about childhood, but the way of approaching the subject felt different here, less weighed down by pathos. The track that came out of it, ‘La roue du Jardin Garnier’, thus set the key for the record.

JeanneTo is a pop punk voice that slips into the chaos of the rave, over provocative rhythms that push the unbridled genres of the 1990s to their extremes: hard-hitting basslines, drum blasts, saturated and addictive synths. A beatmaker and guitarist, Cadillac Prod produces the whole sound and accompanies JeanneTo on stage. His instrumentals pit the energy of the party against the darkness of new-wave punk. Above all, together they seek to create what does not yet exist. When you don't find your place anywhere, you can play whatever you like, everywhere.

Somewhere between diary confession and protest chants, Jeanne does not sing alone. There are people all around, and you are one of them. By naming love and despair for what they are, she makes song a shared space for those who feel lost, somewhere in the middle of it all.

Listening to JeanneTo means letting yourself be overwhelmed by toxic, poetic washes of sound until you are completely engulfed. You no longer know how you got here, but it's fine. It's too late to leave, so all that's left is to dance.
