Johnny Symphonique Tour

The story continues...

The story goes on... ” Yvan Cassar This firm conviction came to Yvan Cassar over more than 15 years in which he accompanied Johnny as musical director.

It is the starting point of a unique project entrusted to him: to convey all the power and emotion of Johnny Hallyday's voice as it resonated in concert, while offering it the sonic setting that studio recordings make possible.

From this ambition came two albums: JOHNNY in 2019, then ACTE II in 2021. Both rest on an unprecedented principle: preserving Johnny Hallyday's live vocal takes and magnifying them with new arrangements, at times symphonic, at times deliberately stripped back.

A faithful tribute to the artist, with that intensity that only the stage could reveal. The audience's response exceeded all expectations. An idea then imposed itself naturally: to return these songs to their place of origin. The stage.

In May 2022, JOHNNY SYMPHONIQUE set out on a first tour of twenty dates. Under the direction of Yvan Cassar, more than one hundred musicians, a choir and a spectacular visual creation accompany Johnny's voice, reproduced on three giant screens.

The greatest classics regain their breath: Diego, libre dans sa tête, L'Envie, Allumer le feu, Que je t'aime, but also Marie, Sang pour sang or Je te promets.

Faced with the audience's enthusiasm, a new series of concerts was scheduled for spring 2024, enriched with new titles including Gabrielle, Noir c'est noir, or the legendary rhythm and blues medley devised by Johnny in the sixties.

The repertoire expands, and the emotion remains intact. In total, these two tours will have brought together more than 100,000 spectators. In 2027, as the public prepares to commemorate ten years since the death of Johnny Hallyday, JOHNNY SYMPHONIQUE opens a new chapter.
