La Flûte Enchantée

Sent by the Queen of the Night, young Prince Tamino believes he must rescue the gentle Pamina from the clutches of the formidable Sarastro, who is depicted to him as a cruel despot. But behind this mission lies an initiatory trial where truth and illusion merge.

Guided first by the mysterious Three Ladies, Tamino shares his journey with Papageno, a whimsical and fearful bird-catcher, whose humour and simplicity contrast with the hero's nobility.

Each is entrusted with a magical object: an enchanted carillon for one, a flute with marvellous powers for the other, instruments that become keys to overcome obstacles and reveal their destiny.

Little by little, the veil is lifted: it is not Sarastro who embodies darkness, but the Queen herself, consumed by her thirst for revenge. The adventure then takes the form of an initiatory journey, punctuated by moral and spiritual trials.

Each step brings Tamino and Pamina closer not only to their union, but also to an ascent towards light, symbolised by Sarastro's wise and benevolent order.

Behind the twists and turns, La Flûte enchantée unfolds as a symbolic poem, where music sublimates the opposition between darkness and clarity, between fear and love, elevating the tale to the universal.
