La Great Fuite of la Bourgeoisie

An offbeat contemporary farce with hopelessly absurd situations: what better way to end 2026 together, and laugh about it?!

A contemporary farce with an offbeat world that offers hopelessly absurd situations: what better way to end 2026 together, and laugh about it?! Here is the recipe from Le Périscope: an epic theatre, a luminous, joyful and droll text, and actors whose performances are dazzling!

After Les Forains and Welcome to the world, the company Le Périscope returns to the Grand Rond with this staging of a text by Romane Nicolas. A billionaire is playing a game of chess on his yacht when suddenly the police ring the doorbell. How can he hide the stolen billions? That is his preoccupation, which will lead him and his bodyguards into an intergalactic chase in which they will encounter rubbish, a leek from the Vercors, 6,000 volunteers, aliens, tax inspectors, Melon Musk, a draught and… Arsène the antifascist kitten.

A sequence of exhilarating scenes, a play within a play carried by a large number of characters, each more zany than the last.

The author speaks about it best herself: « I wrote this play for absurdity, for sadness and for the joy of being alive despite the stupidity of the powerful people around us and of the systems that oppress us. This play is a game, so play! Get your feet tangled up in the play and have a laugh. I wrote it purely for laughs.  »
