Overview

Le Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin presents LE MARIAGE DE FIGARO by Beaumarchais. Directed by Alain Françon.

With Vincent Dedienne, Micha Lescot, Noémie Lvovsky, Alix Poisson, Axel Auriant / Nemo Schiffman (alternating), Eric Berger, Ana Blagojević, Rodolphe Congé, Guillaume Lévêque, Tommy Luminet.

And the apprentices of the Studio Esca: Lucie Baumann, Loup Cousteil-Prouveze, Maé Delegrange, Bilal El Mehia, Iliana Ferroudj, Bérénice Mchaik, Adam Plas Gragnoli. Musicians: Floriane Bonanni* (violinist) and Julia Sinoimeri* (accordionist).

*Alternating with Noémie Schindler and Selmaccord. Duration: 2h15. It is one of the best-known and most performed plays in Beaumarchais's repertoire. On the day of his wedding to Suzanne, Figaro discovers that his master, Count Almaviva, is trying to seduce his fiancée.

Aided by the Countess, Figaro and Suzanne set out to foil his schemes with trickery, disguises and mistaken identities. Beneath the lively, brilliant comedy lies a critique of privilege and power relations, foreshadowing the upheavals of the French Revolution.

After Un chapeau de paille d'Italie, Alain Françon will once again direct Vincent Dedienne, this time in the title role of The Marriage of Figaro. Micha Lescot and Alix Poisson will play the Almaviva couple. Noémie Lvovsky will play Marceline.

As for Suzanne and Chérubin, Alain Françon has cast Ana Blagojević and Axel Auriant / Nemo Schiffman (alternating). Coproduction: Théâtre des nuages de neige. “A choral show between virtuosity and delicacy” La Terrasse.

“A whirling visual and sound choreography, in which Vincent Dedienne embodies the cunning valet with mischief and liveliness” Le Monde.

“The show dazzles, delights, moves, astonishes, makes you laugh and think a great deal, gives wings […] A total delight” La Tribune du Dimanche (5 stars). ”
