Overview

Riding on the success of their oratorio Mytho but not too much, the Lunaisiens do it again by revisiting the story of King Midas whom Apollo burdened with donkey ears. A base revenge: Midas had judged Pan a better musician than this jealous god…

Pop-up opera for the very young, oratorios for children's choirs, song fishing… For over fifteen years, Arnaud Marzorati and the Lunaisiens have traversed the roads of France, and especially the Hauts-de-France, offering young and old to discover otherwise the repertoire and other stories.

After painting with The Tubes of Monet, science with Eurêka, or the plant world, here they are tackling mythology.

If we know King Midas well for his power to turn everything he touches into gold, we remember less his misadventures as a music lover, and his shameful transformation following Apollo's anger towards him. Donkey ears: what a petty punishment from a god, as vexed as he was!
