Les Forteresses

Presented by Cap - Vallée de la Marne. There are sometimes unforgettable encounters, and Les Forteresses is undoubtedly one of them! On a stage transformed into a Persian salon, Gurshad Shaheman invites us into the intimacy of his Iranian family.

He introduces us to the extraordinary destinies of his mother and his two aunts. They tell us about their youth, their relationships with men, and their struggles for women's emancipation, swept away by the 1979 revolution, the war with Iraq and the devastated landscapes, and their arrivals in Europe. It is a story in which, as so often, the personal and the political intertwine to create an immersive experience of extraordinary, rare intensity.
