London City Ballet - Ghost Light Oiseau De Feu

Presented by Le Théâtre Le 13e Art (L-D-21-4320) & Delta Danse. LONDON CITY BALLET GHOST LIGHT L'OISEAU DE FEU With its prestigious heritage, the London City Ballet aspires to reaffirm its place on the choreographic scene.

Once patronised by Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, and resident company of the Sadler's Wells theatre, the London City Ballet established itself in the past as a British reference in the world of dance.

The internationally renowned choreographer John Neumeier presents a new version of his 2020 creation, Ghost Light. Performed for the very first time outside the Hamburg Ballet, Ghost Light offers us a glimpse of the spirits of those artists who once trod our stages.

When the curtain falls and the theatre goes dark, a light illuminates the memory of these performers whose steps continue to inspire us.

In this centenary year of the American choreographer Glen Tetley, the London City Ballet celebrates and pays tribute to his work by reviving his gothic reinterpretation of L'Oiseau de feu.

Originally created for the Royal Danish Ballet, this daring version tells the story of a young woman who frees herself from the grip of an authoritarian family: a pioneer who leaves the nest, embraces her difference and leads her peers towards freedom.

For this revival, the set designer and creator of the original sets, John Macfarlane, winner of an Olivier Award, revisits his designs for the London City Ballet. Reduced-mobility booking: 0148285353
