Magma
A return to the origins and quintessence of Magma, centred on its founder and leader, drummer Christian Vander.
Magma at Le Rocher de Palmer (33150 Bordeaux), on Thursday 10 December 2026 at 20:30.
Checked on 26 October 2026.
Overview
A return to the origins and quintessence of Magma, centred on its founder and leader, drummer Christian Vander.
Since its formation in 1969, Magma has moved through time without suffering its damage or deviating from its course. The legendary group remains indifferent to fashion, always positioned at the avant-garde. With “Zeuhl Kommandöh”, a tangible reference to the mythical Mekanïk Destruktiw Kommandöh of 1973, Christian Vander and his band return to the sources, to Magma's initial core: the rhythm section and one voice, whereas the flagship of the Kobaian armada in full comprises no fewer than twelve members. Stripped of its choir and more zeuhl than ever, somewhere between free jazz, art rock and contemporary music, this Magmaic concentrate draws us, as on the first days, into the heart of the baroque universe imagined by Vander, in an electric, incandescent set, like a glowing cloud, a cosmic deflagration!
