Marion Chrétien raconte Dinah Washington

Jazz — Marion Chrétien pays tribute to the legendary Dinah Washington, with a velvety voice that evokes the elegance and virtuosity of this jazz icon.

On the border of jazz, soul and blues. A demanding musician with a fiery temperament, she grew up in gospel and passed through Lionel Hampton's orchestra in the 1940s. Her repertoire sits at the crossroads of jazz, blues and rhythm & blues, with numerous hits in the 1950s and 1960s, notably her recordings for Mercury Records. Noticed at the greatest European clubs and festivals, Marion Chrétien made her name within the famous Glossy Sisters and Shades Vocal Band, with whom she has given more than 500 concerts over the past 10 years in France and abroad. She now stands as one of the defining voices of the French jazz scene. Audiences have heard her on some of the finest stages: Jazz à Vienne, Crest Jazz Vocal (Jury and Audience Prize), La Nuit Jazz Magazine at the Trianon, the Tahiti Jazz Festival alongside Dee Dee Bridgewater, and the Tanjazz in Tangier.

As part of the Jazz sur Seine 2026 festival.
