At the crossroads of jazz, soul, and blues. A demanding musician with a strong temperament, she came from gospel and performed with Lionel Hampton's orchestra in the 1940s. Her repertoire lies at the intersection of jazz, blues, and rhythm & blues, with numerous hits in the 1950s–60s, notably her recordings for Mercury Records. Noticed in the biggest European clubs and festivals, Marion Chrétien made a name for herself within the famous Glossy Sisters and Shades Vocal band, with whom she has given over 500 concerts in France and abroad over the past 10 years. Today, she stands out as one of the most remarkable voices on the French jazz scene. She has performed on the most prestigious stages: Jazz à Vienne, Crest Jazz Vocal (Jury and Audience Prize), La Nuit Jazz Magazine at the Trianon, the Tahiti Jazz Festival alongside Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Tanjazz in Tangier. As part of the Jazz sur Seine 2026 festival.
