Spanish singer Marta Domingo fuses Iberian traditions with the poetry of Machado and Lorca. Accompanied by Claire Lamothe on piano, they weave a vibrant, enchanting and moving musical universe.

Spanish-born singer-songwriter Marta Domingo has been steeped in Iberian music from a young age and is passionate about Latin American rhythms. For this intimate project, she draws on the traditions and legends of her native Aragon region, as well as the poetry of Antonio Machado and Federico García Lorca, not forgetting the Andalusian harmonies and Sephardic songs that resonate with power and emotion in her voice. She accompanies herself with traditional instruments such as castanets, spoons and the 'pandero cuadrado', a square tambourine with tribal and mysterious sounds once played by the women of the Iberian Peninsula. Pianist Claire Lamothe completes the duo. Throughout the performance, she elegantly deploys her palette of jazz, classical and Hispanic influences, sensitively illustrating these timeless stories. In perfect symbiosis with the voice, the piano becomes an integral part of the narrative, recreating an enchanting universe that transports us back to the vibrant, sun-drenched landscapes that inspired these songs.
