Marta Domingo & Claire Lamothe Duo

Marta Domingo, Spanish singer, fuses Iberian traditions and poetry of Machado and Lorca. With Claire Lamothe on piano, they weave a vibrant, enchanting and moving musical universe.

A Spanish-origin songwriter, Marta Domingo is steeped in Iberian music and passionate about Latin American rhythms.

For this intimate project, she draws from the traditions and legends of her region Aragon, but also from the poetry of Antonio Machado and Federico García Lorca, not forgetting the Andalusian harmonies and Sephardic songs that resonate with strength and emotion in her voice.

She accompanies herself with typical instruments such as castanets, spoons or even the "pandero cuadrado," square tambourine with tribal and mysterious sonorities, once played by the women of the Iberian peninsula. Pianist Claire Lamothe completes the duo.

Through the narrative, she elegantly deploys her palette of jazz, classical and Hispanic influences. She thus manages to illustrate with sensitivity these timeless stories.
