WEDNESDAY 14 OCTOBER Opening act: Round table A meeting devoted to rap as an artistic and cultural practice, to its roots in local areas and to its ties with working-class communities.

The discussion will bring together Pascale Prax-Dubois, researcher at Université Paris 8, along with other guests, around cultural practices, languages, social experiences and the circulation of rap between Chile and France.

Matiah Chinaski & DJ Pérez Acclaimed figures of the Chilean independent hip-hop scene, Matiah Chinaski and DJ Pérez have, for more than twenty years, developed a body of work marked by rap, sampling, experimentation and collective creation.

Originally from Conchalí, in Santiago, Matiah Chinaski is an MC, writer and musician. A founding member of Mente Sabia Crú and the voice of La Brígida Orquesta, he has built a particularly rich body of work at the crossroads of rap, jazz, literature and musical experimentation.

His writing, at once vivid, ironic and attentive to everyday life, has made him a singular figure in Chilean rap. DJ Pérez, also a longstanding member of Mente Sabia Crú, has accompanied Matiah for many years.

A DJ, producer and turntablist, he contributes to the sonic construction of several of their projects and to their stage performances. Their collaboration has developed notably around albums such as Baladi, Hoy No Me Bañé, Retrato Mal Hablado and No Te Creo Pero Gracias.

The duo presents a live rap show accompanied by DJing and scratching, drawing on a long stage experience and on the many collaborations that have marked their journey.

Their visit to Paris is part of a European tour and offers an opportunity to bring a major trajectory in Chilean rap into dialogue with Île-de-France audiences and scenes.
