Minino Garay & friends / Speaking Tango Jazz

Minino Garay takes up residence at Jass Club. For each evening, he brings together a trio and invites one or two musicians with whom he loves to share the stage!

Generous and utterly absorbed percussionist Minino Garay has always drawn on the rich musical traditions and rhythms of Latin America to forge a jazz language all his own. An heir to the New York spoken word movement of the 1960s, forerunner of slam poetry, Speaking Tango is the art of declaiming the lyrics of Argentine popular songs rather than singing them. Jazz and tango blend with the rhythms of South American folklore, and the result sounds like nothing else! For the occasion he is joined by pianist Cédric Hanriot and double bassist Flavio Romero, and welcomes two guests close to his heart: bandoneon player Fabrizio Colombo and singer Julian Naranjo. An evening with the feel of a celebration in the streets of Buenos Aires.
