Mukta

The legendary band known for its delicate fusion of jazz and Indian music is celebrating its 25th anniversary. As a pioneer of Asian Vibe—a musical style reflecting jazz and Indian sounds—Mukta toured stages worldwide until 2012.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the Nantes-based quintet led by double bassist Simon Mary returns with a new live album featuring revisited old tracks and new compositions true to the band's spirit.

With the presence of sitar player Michel Guay, the subtle and intoxicating fullness of Indian rhythms rubs shoulders with the deep vibrations of the double bass and soaring trumpet flights.

African and Cuban tones invite themselves into this fruitful dialogue where improvisations transport us into a boundless space of freedom.
