Overview
Spiritual jazz — Brussels-based quartet OLA TUNJI, led by saxophonist Ornella Noulet, celebrates the release of its debut album, fusing improvisation with a Coltrane-inspired heritage.
The Brussels-based quartet OLA TUNJI gathers around saxophonist Ornella Noulet with a shared passion for the spiritual dimension of jazz.
On October 16, the official release date of their debut album on WERF Records, they will have the honor of performing at the prestigious 38Riv club to celebrate this release with the audience.
Drawing on the heritage of John Coltrane and his contemporaries, their music explores improvisation as a means of expression and connection.
Often transitioning from stripped-down textures to denser passages, their individual voices emerge while remaining integrated into a broader flow. The music feels less like a succession of tracks and more like a continuous process.
On stage, OLA TUNJI creates an immersive atmosphere akin to a trance: a special experience for the audience.
Line-up: Ornella Noulet: saxophones; Oscar Teruel: piano; Anthony Jouravsky: double bass; Egon Wolfson: drums; 38Riv Jazz Club is an intimate venue in the heart of the Marais (38 rue de Rivoli, Paris 4th), dedicated to jazz and improvised music.
